Circle to Search is one of these new tools. It lets you quickly look for anything on the screen with a single touch. You can use it from almost any app, not just your web browser. It’s like a mix between Google Lens and a photo search.
This partnership feature isn’t limited to just Galaxy S24 smartphones because Google powers it. In fact, Circle to Search was also a part of the January Feature Drop update for the Google Pixel 8 and 6 Pro. It will also be compatible with other Android phones down the road.
How to enable Circle to Search
In order to use Circle to Search, you must first make sure that the function is turned on. You can set up your Galaxy S24 by long-pressing on the home button or navigation bar (depending on whether you use buttons or gestures for navigation). This will give you a choice between Google Assistant and Circle to Search. To make Circle to Search the usual choice, make sure that it was chosen at that point.
Don’t worry if you set Google Assistant as the shortcut for long pressing on the button or bar. You can change the setting by hand.
- Step 1: Go to your phone’s settings.
- Step 2: Scroll down and pick Display.
- Step 3: Find the Navigation Bar by scrolling down.
- Step 4: Press the Circle to Search setting button and make sure it’s turned on.
Circle to Search should be turned on by default if you have a Google Pixel 8. If you still need to, make sure you have the most recent program.
How to use Circle to Search
You don’t even have to be in your favourite web browser to use Circle to Search. It works almost anywhere. Circle to Search works no matter what app you’re using—Facebook, Instagram, Threads, a news app, or anything else.
- Step 1: Make sure your phone screen shows the subject you want to look up.
- Step 2: To use Circle to Search, long press on the home button or the menu bar.
- Step 3: Next, a transparent, blue layer will show up on top of the screen, with a Google search bar at the bottom.
- Step 4: Mark the thing you want to find by tapping, drawing, or making a circle around it.
- Step 5: Relevant search results based on text and images will show up at the bottom.
- Step 6: Not happy? You can either choose again or look for something else.
How to add to searches with Circle to Search
You can give more information about what you chose in Circle to Search and even ask for more specifics. This is very helpful if you want to learn more about what you’re looking for, like how much tickets cost at a particular place.
- Step 1: Choose Circle to Search and get results. Then, click the “Add to your search input field” button.
- Step 2: Type or speak out loud the meaning you want to add.
How to exit out of Circle to Search
You’ll want to leave the Circle to Search window when you’re done searching. It is simple to do.
- Step 1: To return to your app, use the Back button if you use Button navigation.
- Step 2: To get back to your app, use the Swipe gesture control. To do this, swipe in from either side of the screen.
