How To See Who Viewed your LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn may help you locate the ideal internship or job, build and maintain connections with other professionals, and acquire the skills you need to be successful in the workplace. LinkedIn can be accessed through a mobile browser experience, a desktop version, or a mobile app. The purpose of the website is to enable registered users to establish and manage professional networks of individuals they are familiar with and confident in. LinkedIn is a very useful tool for professionals and businesses to research organizations, find opportunities, maintain business relationships, and stay informed about industry news. LinkedIn has a plethora of additional uses, including article writing, group membership, photo and video sharing, and offline event planning.

People frequently look for new possibilities and change careers. LinkedIn users can keep track of the job locations and contact details of individuals in their professional network. LinkedIn Groups enable users to connect with professionals through reliable introductions when they are unable to get assistance from their network of connections for a business issue. With the option to apply online, LinkedIn’s job search function provides users with access to thousands of job ads. Prospective employers receive both the application and the user’s LinkedIn profile directly.

How To See Who Viewed your LinkedIn Profile for Free

By presenting your distinctive professional story through experience, talents, and education, a comprehensive LinkedIn profile can assist you in making connections and opening doors. In LinkedIn’s “Who’s Viewed My Profile” section, you will appear anonymously if you are scrolling while in private mode. The user will see “LinkedIn Member: This Person is Viewing Profiles in Private Mode” in place of your name. As a result, the LinkedIn user won’t see any other information about you.

Access your LinkedIn account:

Go to the LinkedIn website and enter your login credentials.

Access your profile: To access your profile, click on your name or profile photo at the top of the LinkedIn homepage.

View Your Profile Stats:

The right-hand column of your profile page will display some basic information regarding the number of views you’ve received. This area may display a selection of the most recent visitors to your profile as well as the total number of views for a specific time frame (often the last 90 days).

  1. Click on “Who’s Viewed Your Profile”: This button or link is usually found directly below your profile statistics. Click on it to view more information. This will direct you to a page where you can see additional details regarding the views on your profile.
  2. See a list of LinkedIn users who have recently viewed your profile by exploring the “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” tab. You can only watch a portion of the most recent visitors for free, depending on the sort of account you have. LinkedIn provides paid services that provide you with more specific information about who has viewed your profile, such as LinkedIn Paid and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  3. Upgrade to a Premium Account (Optional): You may want to think about upgrading to a premium LinkedIn account if you would like access to more insights and comprehensive information on people who have viewed your profile, including the ability to see who has viewed it. Select the premium plan that best meets your needs from the range of options available for profile view information.

For the most recent information on profile views and available features, check LinkedIn’s Help Center or the platform itself. Please keep in mind that LinkedIn’s policies and features may have changed after my last update in September 2021. Furthermore, depending on a user’s privacy settings, LinkedIn may restrict the availability of profile views, so you might not be able to see every viewer.

Limitations of the “Who Viewed My Profile” Page

Only the last five results are visible to LinkedIn users with basic (free) accounts. Because some LinkedIn users have chosen to keep their visits private, LinkedIn will notify you when someone has viewed your profile without revealing who they are.

Turn Off “Who Viewed My Profile”

Open your LinkedIn account and log in.

  • Press the “Me” symbol, which is situated in the homepage’s upper right corner.
  • Choose “Settings.”
  • Go to “Account preferences” and click.
  • In “Site preferences,” select “People also viewed.”
  • To turn off the feature, move the toggle to the left.

LinkedIn will save the modifications automatically.

Types of LinkedIn Account

There are both premium and free accounts on LinkedIn. Your account’s privacy settings, the individuals who visit your profile, and your account itself determine who can access your profile views on the “Who’s Viewed Your Profile” dashboard.

Basic Account (Free)

With a free account, you can see the number of visitors to your profile, the number of people who have looked at it, and the number of times you have shown up in search results. You can see up to five results for these metrics.

Premium  Accounts (Paid)

Users of LinkedIn Premium are not limited in any way when it comes to seeing their past 90 days of history. Paying for LinkedIn Premium is worthwhile for this reason, among others. A slider at the top of the page shows the most popular titles held by visitors, along with their sources of traffic and how they found you on LinkedIn.

Why do you need to see who viewed your LinkedIn profile

We must respond to this query before moving on:

Increasing one’s online presence is the primary motivation for using LinkedIn. Getting found online is the primary goal of LinkedIn. But remember, you need to be discovered on LinkedIn by the appropriate individuals!

LinkedIn displays who has accessed your profile for this reason. There is a tiny percentage of the 850 million LinkedIn users that can advance your career. These are the recruiters in your sector who make hiring decisions. Or the HR departments, hiring managers, and decision-makers in the businesses you want to target. However, it is of no use to you if your LinkedIn profile is only seen by a random group of people.

Adjust Your Privacy Settings

In order for people to see your name and headline if you have a free account, you must adjust your privacy settings to make your profile public. This enables the website to keep track of who has viewed the material you have posted.

Change What People on LinkedIn Can View

To view who has viewed your LinkedIn profile, follow these steps to modify your settings:

  • After logging in, select Me from the drop-down menu located beneath your photo in the toolbar at the top of the LinkedIn page.
  • Select Privacy & Settings.
  • From the page’s left side, choose the visibility tab.
  • Select profile viewing choices from the visibility of your profile & network area.
  • If you want to display your name and headline to others after viewing their profile, go to Select What Others Can See.

Change the Public Information That’s Available Online

You may modify the following options to alter the publicly viewable information while someone isn’t logged into LinkedIn:

  • After logging in, select Me from the drop-down menu located beneath your photo in the toolbar at the top of the LinkedIn page.
  • Select Privacy & Settings.
  • Click on the tab for visibility.
  • Press Edit for a public profile.
  • Modify the visibility options on the page’s right side.

Conclusion

In general, the ‘Who Viewed My Profile’ function aids in network growth, buyer conversion, and outreach expansion. To view people’s profiles in secret or with just your name and headline, follow the instructions above.
